Into Enemy Waters: A World War II Story of the Demolition Divers Who Became the Navy SEALS by Andrew Dubbins
There is no shortage of books, movies and TV shows about Navy SEALs... Jocko Willink’s pod. American Sniper. The Terminal List. The amount of new content, both fiction and non-fiction, goes on and on. We’re fascinated with these elite, modern warriors. But before there was such a thing as being a Navy SEAL, there was simply a group of brave-as-hell dudes in their late teens and early twenties who risked their lives in ice cold seas, with rudimentary equipment, if any, to plant bombs underwater to try to stop Germany and Hitler. At the time, they were known as Underwater Demolition Teams.
And these guys had guts. Into Enemy Waters is told through the lens of George Morgan, a 95-year-old who, when he was seventeen, made an impossible transition. One minute he’s a lifeguard in New Jersey…and within a matter of months he’s in the water at Omaha Beach trying to blow up Germany’s defenses.
If you’re into military history, the SEALs, adventure and tales of ridiculous bravery and courage, you’ll enjoy this book. You can get it here.

You all know I love the Flex Factory (my garage gym for the new readers), but I like to take one day a week and focus on sprints and body weight workouts. I came up with this routine a while back and I return to it once a month or so. No equipment needed. Just you and the street or an open field or grass.
I call it the Street Samurai because… hell… I don’t know…
Running a workout called the Street Samurai sounds damn cool:
The Street Samurai
10 Minute Warm-Up Jog
4 x 100 yard sprints (pace off or guess 100 yards)
20 press-ups (push ups with arms/elbows at your side)
20 push-ups (push ups with elbows away from your body)
4 x 100 yard sprints
20 wide grip push ups
20 diamond cutters (push-ups with your hands close together, forming a diamond)
4 x 100 yard sprints
20 shoulder tap push-ups (push up and then take one hand off the ground and touch the opposite shoulder)
20 Spiderman push-ups (push ups with wide grip arms and legs spread far apart)
4 x 100 yard sprints
20 push-ups
20 burpees (yes… finish strong!)
TOTAL TIME: 40 Minutes

We’ve reached the time of year that I used to dread as a kid: the first day of school. Not because I hated school, but because we moved around a lot and I hated being the new kid.
I put together a short thread on what I tell my kids to maybe make things easier for a new kid at their school…
Was really appreciative of the huge response and all the people who wrote in that they were going to read it to their kids.
Here it is:
