FINKEL'S FAST FIVE - ISSUE #40
NOVEMBER 2ND, 2018
Meet the Dali of deli meat (or the Lichtenstein of lunches, if you prefer):
His name is Beau Coffron, AKA, the Lunchbox Dad. He's appeared on Good Morning America and on ABC News and The Huffington Post and all kinds of other media outlets for the amazing creativity he uses to make his kids' school lunches. I make my kids' lunches every day and these photos of his Snoopy-themed lunch, his Gremlins-themed lunch and even his Princess Bride-themed lunch puts everything I do to shame. They're amazing. Even inspired me to up my lunch box game a little.
The Sandman is back:
Wherever you land on the scale of Adam Sandler fandom, if you ever appreciated any of his comedy or his movies, his new Netflix special, 100% Fresh, will remind you of why you loved him in the first place. I know some people won't believe this (and I'm an admitted Sandler homer) but it's brilliant. It's silly and funny and goofy and even a little sweet at times. I loved it. Watch it here.
Wouldn't it be great if Cheetos were healthy?:
Chef Robert Irvine thought so and in his quest to create nutritious versions of foods that kids love he developed these puffs. Each bag has 20g of protein, 2g of sugar and they're keto friendly if you follow that diet. Just ordered some for the kids to try since Cheetos have essentially become their own food group in grade school.
Why you can't skip a stone on a lake more than 90 times:
I'd guess that every single person reading this at one time or another has skipped a stone on a lake. How many skips did you get? 10? 20? As you might imagine, there are elite stone skippers out there and this short video dives into the physics and physicality of the world's best stoners (ha). A tremendously-written thought about technology:
"The problem that technology presents us is that it increases the amount of information at our disposal, but slowly degrades the power of our memory to retain it." - Robert Greene
Have a great weekend and watch out for the slowly degrading power of your memory!
